My Silly Monkey

Where there are drums... there are drummers.
Uh Hum.... Wrong side my boy.

 Sad little tired face.... awwww

Khaled and his Mama...

 You looking at me, boy?

If you look in his hands he has a measuring tape .... my tailor.

What sound does a monkey do?

We have basement renovations going on. Exciting to get the house looking better and better, or just functional stuff, like steps that are stable. Let me tell you as we do get stuff done this house is getting well lived in. What do they call it, wear and tare :) But we might actually have a nice space to play for Khaled in the basement at some point.
Khaled is doing real good at eating form a spoon and fork, and nap time and nights are much better.
We visited Baba in his office today. I have to add we visited May also. It was so cute to see him walk around in there. May, I have to give her credit she is so good with him and so careful, you almost can't imagine that coming from a dog with such force. Boxers are known to be really good with kids, even babies but you have to always watch with any pet of course. Khaled has a big pet family, he gravitates towards all of them with no fear and makes good buddies with them. I love seeing that.

EGYPT'S DAY OF HAPPINESS

I have nothing even close to poetic to be said, we are so Happy. Last week, last friday, we went to the mosque and I said next friday we will come and Egypt will be free, the people will get what they want. I thought to myself on thursday night, I guess not this friday... I was wrong. Moments before leaving we heard Mubarak had stepped down. I think many people will be able to breath again tonight. Our hearts are filled with joy, we want to see a better Egypt. I have been so touched by all this, to see people, so many people, in the streets, asking for dignity, asking for a chance to choose better and to see the violence and such unity at the same time. This is not only something I will tell Khaled someday, but something that I hope he will learn a lesson from and feel this was a very special moment in time. The road ahead is unknown and will have some difficult times, but today we are all proud and even more for all Egyptians.
Here is videos and pictures from our day.
Egypt have your celebration!!!!
Yes, we had cake!

At my parents.. I even brought the lap top to watch the joy in the street and hear the people express there happiness.
 Having cake!!!

You don' need to wear it on your head as a helmet anymore .... Make some noise with it .. celebrate!! :)

Allô, qui est la?

Khaled is taking food from his fork and spoon now and then putting it in his mouth, well once in a while.
I get excited and clap. He is starting not to get so mad when he doesn't get exactly what he wants, I think he knows that it's ok to get a no sometimes. I was so touched that you looked at the blog so soon after getting the internet Gedou Teta and Eman. We love you so much! Stay strong.
