Our Day

I LOVE my Mémére and Pépére, always will! I could say so many nice things about theme. I could write pages. Some things are best kept simple. Today, they where layed to rest next to each other. So many happy thoughts when I think of them both.

I ended up doing something special today. It may not be what is on everyones mind for a birthday, as today was my birthday, but I enjoyed my day very much and now that it is late, I feel very proud of myself.

My grandma is being burried tomorrow at 4 p.m. and we went out to buy a flower arrangement for the top of the tomb stone. My plan was simply to buy one, but, standing there infront of one at the flower shop I thought, no... if I am to spend money, I want to make it! So I asked to buy the base and off I went. I went to walmart and bought lots of silk flowers and greenery, and now it's done..taaa daaa! I had learned to make then when I work for a little while at a flower shop, but my skills where very old, none the less it turned out ok. I resisted my strong urge to go monochromatic, and tryed to do something that Mémére would truely like. Of course in my minds eye I wanted a masterpiece, it's not, but it's made with love.

My baby, as I accuratly call him, is doing wonderful! I love to see him do new stuff. He now starts to laugh just at the sight of mama and baba (what are you trying to tell us Khaled), he's grabbing his feet a lot today and lots of kicks of joy. He's been making sounds holding his lips tight and drooling lots. All things that a parent get over excited about. Soon he will be trying all kinds of foods and who knows what else. Oh we found a nice baby clothes store in beresford today what a treat to buy a couple things for our boy.

I want to say Happy Birthday to Fathy!!!! Khaled's Ged'dou (grandpa). He beat me by a day, the 25th (oh, and maybe a few years). Anyway, he got Hatem ready to deal with a taurus like me!

Wow, there isn't enought hours in the day! I always have something to do, or must get done. But it was a nice day..... well.. all except when May ate the corner of my hand made B-day card by Hatem. She just ate his name, the back corner. I think she was mad that I wasn't letting her have fun with my flower bits on the floor while I was making the arrangement. What can you do! She's our dog now. But this reminds me, yesturday I took the stroller and Khaled and I went for a lovely walk with May. I used the leash looped around my stomac so I had my hands free and gave great controle with the dog. I'm quite proud when things go well, makes you want to have lots more walks when it's pleasant.

In Construction

Here is some work that Hatem made, all for Canadian audiences! We are in progress of turning our sunroom into a room that can be used all year long, extending our house a little. It's going to be a great space to have an office, well needed and deserved for Hatem. For me, it's going to free up my kitchen table and give more room for all of us.

Little Bruise???

Khaled had some redness that almost looked like a light bruise around his wrist. Of course I was wondering how he could of gotten that, I asked Hatem and... no, he didn't know. Well, I soon found out what was going on when I looked at him sitting in his swing chair. Khaled was sucking on his arm so hard he was basically giving himself a hickey. So, what can a mom do, I put long sleeves on him. It for sure wasn't out of hunger because let me tell you this boy is well fed:)

Oh Khaled we love you.

On a diffrent note, I want to send my love to everyone who loved Stan (my uncle) who passed away 2 years ago today. I'm very proud of you Sue, Danielle and Stef. You're all doing great things with your life.

5 Months

You look older sometimes my boy, maybe you're just growing up.

Khaled, you are 5 months and weigh 14,11 oz. I am so proud of you! You're a sturdy young lad now! I admire you so much, you smile at strangers when they talk to you, and you certainly know when you are tired. You teach me good things, I'll try to do the same for you.

They Call Me Mellow Yellow

Khaled has his real fussy days once in a while, lucky for me, today he is really good. He's having lots of long naps, so at least I have time to make a vegetable soup to try to heal this soar throat I have. Khaled is starting to make more expresive sounds, we are real close to being a house full of screams, at least it's not from Mama and Baba. (May I add, a substantial amounts of barks as well.)
